Composting

A number of articles have reported on the latest advances in composting and on its applications. However, no single publication has been written in which all of this work is presented, carefully described and properly evaluated. This book describes all of the basic principles of composting; summarises the latest advancements; dispels myths; and provides results of scientific research carried out on composting since the early 1950s. The book encompasses composting from a historical perspective, to the latest work conducted in microbiology, engineering and other aspects with the process. In summary, this is the first handbook of its kind on what is now a readily emerging field of waste management. It is a 'one stop shop' guide to compost science and the technology required to manage the resource. The possible competitor titles published years ago attempt to embrace which will be addressed in this book. However they are outdated and not comprehensive. This new publication utilises the specific interests of specialist authors to bring together the key aspects of modern compost science in one handbook. Poetry, for Jed Rasula, bears traces of our entanglement with our surroundings, and these traces define a collective voice in modern poetry independent of the more specific influences and backgrounds of the poets themselves.
